Fireworks show to celebrate St. Peter and Paul

In occasion of the festivity of Saint Peter and Paul, patron of Rome, on the 29 June will take place the traditional “Girandola”, a fireworks show at Piazza del Popolo with a classic music background.

This tradition was born on 1481, invented by the Pope Sixtus V and proposed again for the next years to celebrate important events like Easter or the proclamation of the new Pope, until 1871. It attracted people from all over Europe and from every social background.

Sundance Sunday Pool Party

Triumphs and Laments: an artwork by William Kentridge to celebrate Rome

On Tuesday 21 April don’t miss the opening ceremony of William Kentridge’s work “Triumphs and Laments: A Project for the City of Rome”, a large-scale 550 meter-long wall painting celebrating Rome’s history in occasion of the celebration of the 2,769th birthday of the Eternal City. On the banks of the Tiber, between Ponte Mazzini and Ponte Sisto, the first and the biggest space in Rome entirely dedicated to contemporary art.

Garden of Ninfa: a little piece of heaven near Rome

Located near Latina, not far from Rome, the Garden of Ninfa is known as one of the 10 most beautiful gardens in the world. Created in English garden style and immersed in uncontaminated nature, it hosts nearly 13000 types of plants and trees such as magnolias, birches, Japanese maples, cherry trees, climbing roses, besides streams and a small river. The area around the garden is a WWF oasis from 1976.
